🏆It was an exciting weekend for our Powerlifting team with three athletes placing at the Regional Meet and qualifying to compete at State! 🥇Zoe S. placed 1st with a total weight of 865 being named the West Regional Champ in the 165 weight class. Zoe also broke the Regional Squat Record with a total weight of 355 and the Composite Regional Total Record with 865! 🥈Bailey D. placed 2nd in the 105 weight class with a total weight of 555! 🥈Saylr M. placed 2nd in the 181 weight class with a total weight of 785! The Wolves traveled to the 2025 LHSAA division 2 state wrestling tournament on 2/14/2025-2/16/2025. 🏆The Wolves competed well and had many state placers:🏆 114lbs - De'yton Y. - State Champion. She is the first RHS student to win an LHSAA Girls State Wrestling Championship. 113lbs - Palmer S. - 5th place 132lbs - Ayden B.- 4th place 138lbs - Landon L. - 6th place 150lbs - Trae T. - 4th place The Wolves finished the 2024-2025 season with a 17-2 dual meet record. 1 state champion and 4 state placers. The AHEC of a Summer Program gives high school students, who are interested in health careers, an opportunity to obtain first-hand experience in a healthcare facility. Students take part in volunteer work at hospitals or health centers for 2 – 3 weeks where they will learn about health issues, patient care, job readiness skills, volunteer service, postsecondary education for healthcare professions, and more. This program is designed for students who will be juniors and seniors in the 2025-2026 school year and have an interest in pursuing healthcare careers. Students can find the applications and Teacher Recommendation Form in their "Junior Class" or "Sophomore Class" Google Classroom. Please note that all applications are due by March 5th. Acadia Parish partnered with Ochsner Acadia General/Ochsner Lafayette General to offer students the opportunity to hear Stephen Hill, Speak Sobriety, talk substance misuse prevention, treatment, recovery and mental health.
