The Acadia Parish School Board recently held a warm and enthusiastic welcome for new teachers joining the district for the 2024-2025 school year. The event, designed to familiarize the incoming educators with the district’s policies, procedures, and culture, marked the official start of their journey in Acadia Parish schools.
Held at the district's Education Center, the orientation session brought together a diverse group of educators eager to contribute to the local community. The morning was filled with introductions, informative presentations, and an opportunity for the new staff members to engage with experienced teachers and administrators.
Superintendent Carol Tall expressed the district's excitement in welcoming the new educators, highlighting the crucial role they play in shaping the future of Acadia Parish students. "Our new teachers are the driving force of our educational system, bringing fresh ideas, energy, and a commitment to excellence. We are thrilled to have them on board and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on our students," the superintendent said.
During the orientation, the new teachers received a comprehensive overview of the district’s expectations, resources, and support systems. Topics covered included district technology resources snapshot, classroom management strategies, professional development opportunities, and an overview of special education practices. Teachers then were actively engaged with a presentation by Andre Deshotel on Whole Brain Teaching techniques. Special attention was given to the district's commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both students and staff.
As the 2024-2025 school year approaches, the Acadia Parish School Board remains committed to providing its educators with the tools and resources they need to succeed. The district's dedication to professional development and continuous learning ensures that both new and returning teachers are well-equipped to provide high-quality education to all students.
