There’s a certain, unspeakable name on stage, but no one says we can’t parody it. This spring, the Rayne High Drama Club will perform Don Zolidis’ Miss Beth—a one-act play produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. Available roles include 10 females, 2 males, and 2 flexible roles and auditions are set for September 10-12 after school (3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.) in Room 41 for all RHS students. Please see Mrs. Gotte for an audition packet and for more information.

The role of a high school counselor encompasses addressing the academic, career, and social/emotional developmental needs of students. At Rayne High, we are fortunate that our Counseling Department does this and so much more. This year, we are honored to announce that our Freshmen & Sophomore Counselor, Mrs. Adrienne Gatte, has been named the Acadia Parish High School Counselor of the Year! Her former teaching experience and counseling knowledge combine to create a safe environment for students and staff, and guides them through challenges they may face at school or at home with an open, thoughtful ear. They can trust that she will be compassionate, fair, and help to identify problems while working to find effective solutions. She is always thinking ten steps ahead and constantly striving for growth and improvement professionally and for our school, and diligently works to provide opportunities for our students to explore their futures. Simply put, she makes it so easy to brag about her and is so deserving of the acclaim! We are incredibly proud of her and grateful she is a part of our team. #RHS #RayneHigh #APSB #HSCounselorOfTheYear #GeauxWolves #WolfPride #RayneHSWolves

This year’s recipient of Support Person of the Year is no stranger to the RHS family, having been a longtime Rayne High Wrestling and football coach. Mr. Patrick ā€œPappyā€ Manuel has been a wonderful mentor to our athletes throughout the years, helping them to achieve their goals and imparting sage advice and wisdom. As a new member of our custodial staff, he helps to keep our campus beautiful, all with a smile on his face. He is always willing to lend a hand and show his support in any way he can. Thank you Pappy! Congrats on being named SPOTY! #RHS #RayneHigh #SupportPersonOfTheYear #GeauxWolves #WolfPride #SPOTY #RayneHSWolves #RHSWrestling #RHSFootball #RHSSPOTY

This week we are shouting out members of our faculty and staff who received special accolades this school year! Ms. Maria Dupont is the 2023-2024 Rayne High School Teacher of the Year! Having previously taught at Armstrong Middle School, Ms. Dupont became a member of our faculty during the 2020-2021 school year and her former students transitioned to her current students! She now teaches Physical Science, Physical Science Honors, and Biology classes. In addition, Ms. Dupont serves as the Head of the RHS Science Department. She is caring and quick to laugh, but can be tough when needed and sets high expectations for all of her students. She is a phenomenal educator and incredibly deserving of this honor! Congrats Ms. Dupont! #RHS #RayneHigh #TeacherOfTheYear #WolfPride #GeauxWolves #RHSTOY #RayneHSWolves #TOY
