Congratulations to Rayne High School Student Council on another successful convention with the Louisiana Association of Student Councils.
This year's convention was held at Archbishop Hannan High School in Covington this past weekend. Rayne High School was recognized as a Gold Honor Council and the recipient of the Student Council Week Award.
Rayne High School was also elected Vice President of the LASC District 5.
Devyn W., who serves as RHS Vice President, also completed her year as the LASC District 5 President. District 5 covers seven parishes of the Acadiana region. In addition to bringing the house down during her fairy godmother routine on stage, Devyn became only the third Rayne High school student to receive the prestigious Dale Hawley Award for leadership. This award is given on the national level to those students who demonstrate leadership beyond the normal range. Mr. Dale Hawley is credited with being the creator of the National Association of Student Councils.
Rayne High is incredibly proud of all students who attended this weekend!
